| 内容記述 | This study explored the perceptions of nursing faculty members regarding the challenges encountered by international nursing students in Japan in relation to the Japanese language and educational support available to said students. Survey data from 23 faculty members indicated that, while over 70% perceived an enhancement in students’ Japanese language abilities, 82.6% identified nursing terminology as particularly challenging. The findings demonstrate that language requirements vary across educational contexts; receptive skills dominate in lectures, whereas productive language skills become critical in clinical settings. Faculty members noted that students with higher language proficiency tended to perform better academically (78.3% agreement), suggesting an association between the two factors. Additionally, a large majority of faculty members (91.3%) recognized the importance of collaborative learning opportunities despite inconsistent implementation. These findings underscore the necessity of multifaceted support, including specialized language instruction targeting nursing terminology, context-specific language support, structured peer interaction, and evidence-based educational materials. This study contributes to the understanding of the interplay between language proficiency and nursing education by highlighting the importance of systematic support mechanisms. Future research should include longitudinal studies that track intervention outcomes and develop standardized support protocols to enhance educational equity and workforce diversity in Japanese healthcare settings. | |||||||||||
