| 内容記述 | This study investigates the relationship between the capacity to be alone （CBA） and interpersonal relationships. Consideration was given to SNS addiction in this study. In all, 137 female university students answered questions posed via Google Forms. The scale for capacity to be alone consists of four factors: “tolerance of loneliness,” “relaxation from and desire for being alone,” “a sense of connection,” and “awareness of individuality.” The findings from path analysis by structural equation modeling were given as follows. On one hand, high SNS usage reduces the tolerance of loneliness, which increases defensiveness but on the other hand, it also increases raises a sense of connection that reduces defensiveness. High relaxation from being alone and desire to be alone are associated with defensiveness and superficial relationships. Awareness of individuality enables relationships to be built that tolerate opposing perspectives. These suggest that developing one factor of the capacity to be alone that is high is not sufficient to build a stable interpersonal relationship. All four factors of the capacity to be alone are necessary to build stable interpersonal relationships. | |||||
