Previous studies have clearly shown that parenting stress can lead to child abuse. Considering previous studies, this study explores the factors related to parenting stress and support for parents who experience such stress. Particularly, since it was observed that many of those who abuse are mothers, I focused on mothers, and examined the factors that induce parenting stress in them. On examining these factors, the results showed that a mothers’ personality correlates with parenting stress. Specially, previous studies have indicated that a mothers’ ego state influences parenting stress. Previous studies on parenting stress have indicated the importance of the mother-child relationship, and that a mother should feel relaxed. There are various social approaches that can be taken to support a mother experiencing parenting stress. However, child abuse has continued to increase, and it still poses a significant problem.
