| 内容記述 | This study examines the complexities of interpreter-mediated forensic interviews with Uzbek children in Japan, focusing on the interplay of linguistic, cultural, and developmental factors. Dialectal variations, translanguaging practices, and culturally specific communication styles among Uzbek children often pose challenges for Japanese interviewers. The interpreter’s role extends beyond linguistic translation to encompass cultural mediation, bridging communication gaps and ensuring accurate conveyance of the child’s testimony. This research highlights the critical need for interpreters with not only strong language proficiency but also a deep understanding of the child-interviewee’s culture, his/her language development, and the interviewing techniques to ensure fair, ethical, and reliable forensic interviews. | |||||||
