| 内容記述 | In childcare settings, professionals frequently receive consultations about child-rearing. Among the various concerns expressed by parents, lifestyle-related issues are the most common. This includes discussions about the nature of “discipline” within lifestyle habits. In this paper, we aim to clarify the content and characteristics of articles regarding infant “discipline” published in Haha no Tomo from 1990 to 2024, which spans the Heisei and Reiwa periods—an era when mothers’ concerns about child-rearing became increasingly prominent. We seek to explore the factors that contribute to the anxiety and burden faced by today’s mothers as they confront the initial challenge of raising their infants: “How should I raise my baby?” By analyzing the characteristics of articles about child-rearing and “discipline” featured in Haha no Tomo during this period, we mainly detected two problems that trouble modern parents. Our findings suggest that parenting advice grounded in expert knowledge may impose a sense of “pressure” on parents, often characterized by words like “should,” “must,” or “have to.” Additionally, it was noted that since 2005, there has been a noticeable increase in articles addressing parents' confusion surrounding the concept of raising a “baby.” | |||||||||||||
