| 内容記述 | This study was intended to determine 1) the current level of smartphone dependence among female university students and 2) the interaction effect of smartphone dependence with loneliness on social skills. This study determined that 42.6% of female university smartphone owners were smartphone-dependent. The duration of smartphone use and its dependence scores increased in the order of when the phone was acquired: elementary school > middle school > high school. The social skills score showed a significantly negative correlation with the smartphone dependence score (r = −0.217, p < 0.05) and the loneliness scale score (r = −0.453, p < 0.001), respectively. On the contrary, the smartphone dependence score and the loneliness scale score showed no significant correlation. Therefore, considering the social skills score as the dependent variable and the smartphone dependence score and loneliness scale score as explanatory variables, a hierarchical multiple regression analysis was conducted, and an interaction effect was found between the smartphone dependence score and the loneliness scale score. These results suggest that for a generation that has been exposed to smartphones since childhood, everyone is at a risk of becoming smartphone-dependent, and that smartphone dependence, combined with loneliness, leads to a decline in social skills. |
