This paper focuses on the behavior of entrepreneurs in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture which is one of the most famous ceramic production areas in Japan. While entrepreneurial behavior in traditional industry has been addressed as ‘deviant’ or ‘overcome’ in some academic research, this paper figures out initiative to ‘internal reform’. We investigate 8 small-middle size firms and then focus on 3 individuals’ activity. This interview data suggests that entrepreneurial behavior in this area is aiming at reform of internal support system for certain kinds of ceramic artists who struggle to coexist both their own artistic and economic achievement. These 3 individuals create new businesses not only to pursuer their own profit but to create new arena for other ceramic artists to continue their artistic works. In this result, we conclude that it is needed to focus on both outreach and internal action to comprehend entrepreneurial behavior in traditional industry.}, pages = {1--15}, title = {伝統産業における企業家行動 : 愛知県瀬戸市における陶磁器産業のケーススタディ}, volume = {18}, year = {2022} }
