| 内容記述 | In this article, the second of a multi-part series, we consider the musical influences of such composers as Beethoven, Wagner-and even Leonard da Vinci-on Anthony Burgess, the twentieth-century British author who was himself an accomplished pianist and composer. We pay particular attention to Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Wagner's Ring Cycle, along with archival materials offered to us at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, in our efforts to illuminate the musical, religious, and moral interests of Anthony Burgess as a writer and a musician. | |||||
