          <datacite:description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">Salience is an object's ability to be classified as noticeable or important in a person's mind. When the language learner's study becomes salient, they have a higher potential for memorization, recall, and acquisition as the target words have been observed as important. Through methodical study techinique using flashcards, any target language has the chance to become salient. This paper shares the success of an action research project which utilized emotional salience to enhance target language acquisition using flashcards.</datacite:description>
